Social Media/Community Manager

We are looking for a Social Media/Community Manager to support the business with social media engagement across all social media channels (including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook) for our eight therapy area platforms.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Campaigns, the Social Media/Community Manager will work closely to support the business with social media engagement across all social media channels (including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook) for our eight therapy area platforms. You must have a genuine passion for social media and a proven track record of managing the social platforms of other brands. As Engagement Manager you will build and nurture an online community, having the confidence to start conversations, respond quickly to comments and join in other relevant discussions, whilst reflecting the humour and warmth of the TMM company culture to help us build positive brand experiences across all channels. The successful candidate would preferably also have some experience effectively communicating with our target audience of healthcare professionals and related industry professionals in a healthcare/medical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of all social media channels using Hootsuite
  • Development of a creative and engaging social media community strategy, that adapts content to suit different channels
  • Cultivate relationship with online users and aim to convert more of the leading experts we work with into Social Media Ambassadors
  • Finding relevant online trends and conversations to engage with, representing the brand appropriately
  • Input into B2B and B2C campaign plans using your solid understanding of current and emerging social media trends and tools
  • Compile and prepare engagement data to identify trends in audience interaction and use this knowledge to further build the online community
  • Liaise with copywriter to ensure all social media content is on time

Key attributes / skills / competencies:

  • You are a ‘people person’ and enjoy providing excellent experiences and content to the online community
  • 5 years + experience in healthcare or social media
  • Life science or healthcare-related degree/qualification is desirable
  • You have enough confidence to engage with healthcare professionals, with some form of healthcare/medical experience preferred
  • Experience with building social media from the ground up
  • Experience building brand loyalty and brand communities
  • Excellent communications skills to be able to write effectively and in the tone of the brand
  • Experience in increasing the reach/engagement of organic content
  • Adaptable to manage the complexity of social media with a solid understanding of Twitter
  • Experience using Hootsuite or a similar scheduling tool
  • Up-to-date with all current social trends & methodology
  • Able to use video/journal content to create supporting marketing materials for social media
  • Able to adjust and adapt with the demands of the role, juggling multiple tasks & challenges across the Digital and Social ecosystem
