Brian has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for the last 46 years in both the discovery and generic pharmaceutical industries. This has included Beecham, Glaxo, Searle, Fisons and Ranbaxy Laboratories. He has managed global pharmaceutical businesses around the world and, as CEO of a listed company, has presented at investor conferences from Las Vegas to Tokyo. Today Brian is also on the Governance Board of the United Nations Patent Pool and is a Non-Executive Independent Director of several companies in healthcare sectors including hospital management, medical diagnostics, packaging and pharmaceuticals. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed Journal of Generic Medicines.

Barney is an ambitious and highly accomplished Managing Director with over 15 years experience in STM publishing. As an award winning Medical Sales Director at Touch Group Plc. (trading as Touch Briefings) he successfully developed and managed a team of 30 and was responsible for the development of the products and company’s revenue. covering over 30 journal titles across 15 therapy areas.  In 2012 Barney successfully led the management buy out of several established therapy areas from Touch Briefings to form Touch Medical Media.

Since 2012 Barney has formed a highly experienced and skilled team to develop the business further.  Barney has focussed on quality and best practice, developing the journals, improving online services, and also broadening the publications to cover additional specialities.

Touch Medical Media believe that the quality and accessibility of our products is our most important asset, and have invested considerable time and effort to build our reputation as a trusted provider of content. The redesign of our six main websites and mobile services has been with the user experience in mind, so that content can be viewed on the go by busy physicians whose visits to Touch websites are rapidly increasing.  Our editorial policies meet the publication guidelines as recommended by the ICMJE (www.icmje.org) and the Good Publication Practice guidelines (www.ismpp.org/gpp3).

On a personal level, Barney is a keen cyclist, is married, has two daughters and lives in Oxfordshire where Touch Medical Media is headquartered.

Matt heads up the global touchENDOCRINOLOGY, touchOPHTHALMOLOGY and touchRESPIRATORY divisions, with overall operational and revenue responsibility for the industry leading review journals and websites provided by Touch Medical Media.

Matt graduated from the University of Southampton with an honours degree in Biomedical Science. He was recruited from University and since 2008 has gained significant experience within the medical publishing & pharmaceutical industries, helping successfully launch, manage and continually develop Touch’s portfolio of journals, websites, teams and professional relationships.

Tim Sheldrick is the Business Unit Director for touchNEUROLOGY, touchONCOLOGY and touchCARDIO divisions. Tim has overall operational and revenue responsibility for the industry leading review journals and websites provided by Touch Medical Media.

Tim graduated from the University of Surrey with a degree in Business and has built up 15 years experience within the medical publishing/education industry, helping build and launch successful publications within the fields of Oncology, Cardiology and Neurology.

Gill Brooks is responsible for HR and compliance for Touch Medical Media. After a number of years living in New Zealand, she has recently returned to the UK.
She brings with her a wealth of experience from her many years of working in health, safety, and compliance consultancy, and administration management.

Matt started his digital work in the dot.com boom of 1999; helping the major tech publishers to transition to online.

Matt has been an independent digital consultant since 2008. Passionate about digital, Matt loves working with publishers, businesses and agencies to deliver results though a deep understanding of digital business strategy; what works and more importantly what doesn’t.

Prior to moving into technology Matt worked in the pharma sector as a research biologist (Applied Biology & Management Science BSC, Leeds), sales and marketing.

Hannah Brown joined Touch Medical Media in 2018 as the Head of Marketing. She has worked in medical publishing marketing since 2005, and brings a wealth of experience of effective global engagement campaigns for both physicians and allied health professionals.

Hannah graduated in European Studies and Modern Languages from the University of Manchester and went on to complete a Masters in Business Administration and the Key Executive Program at Harvard Business School.

Caroline Markham

Caroline Markham is the Head of Strategic Partnerships for Touch Medical Media. She manages and develops the strategic partners across all divisions to develop Touch Medical Media’s reach. She also manages the production of all Touch Medical Media’s leading open access journals and distribution to congresses once they’ve been published.

Caroline graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in Sociology and has worked across a range of project management and communication roles before joining Touch Medical Media in 2013.

Louise Jarman is the Head of Social Media for Touch Medical Media. She oversees the daily activity on the TMM social media accounts, expanding the reach of our dedicated digital healthcare channels and peer-reviewed, open access journals.

Louise graduated from the University of East London with a degree in Media and Communication Studies. She has solely managed our social media accounts since she was recruited in 2015, helping successfully launch, manage and continually develop Touch Medical Media’s portfolio.

Nicola Cartridge

Nicola Cartridge is the Managing Editor for the Endocrinology, Oncology and Ophthalmology portfolios. She oversees the publication process of these journals, and works closely with the Editorial Boards and key opinion leaders to ensure content is timely and useful for our readers. She strives to ensure that best publication practice is followed, and regularly attends publishing meetings, such as ISMPP, to keep up-to-date with the rapidly changing industry.

Nicola has an MChem (1st) in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Loughborough University and an MSc(Res) in Organic Chemistry from the University of Leeds. Before joining TMM in 2014, Nicola worked as an Editor for a range of open access, peer reviewed journals at Springer Healthcare and Adis.

Christina Mackins-Crabtree is the Deputy Editorial Director, and Managing Editor for the Neurology and Respiratory titles. With over 11 years of experience in medical communications, predominantly gained in neurology, and as a long-standing Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) with a solid knowledge of Good Publication Practice (GPP3) and industry guidelines, Chrissie relishes the opportunity to work closely with the Editorial Boards to ensure coverage within each journal issue is of the highest quality and interest to our readers whilst striving to ensure that best publication practice is always adhered to.

Chrissie has a BSc in Biochemistry and PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology, both awarded by the University of Surrey, with the research element completed at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.

As publications and projects lead at Touch Medical Communications, Jessica Bibb is dedicated to ensuring efficient delivery of high quality manuscripts and impactful projects. Since coming on board, she has successfully implemented an improved manuscript development process for TMC, which is fully compliant with GPP guidelines.

Jessica has over 13 years’ experience, gained from a combination of roles in both journals publishing and medical communications. As such, she has a broad range of specialist skills and is comfortable working across a variety of project types.

Jessica has a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and Information Systems from Oxford Brookes University.

Emma’s key driver is to deliver independent medical education programmes which are both innovative and impactful for the right audience. Emma focuses on the strategy behind the touchIME offerings in which align to both the client strategy and audience engagement. Application of her scientific knowledge and understanding of the key drivers for the client is what Emma enjoys as part of her role here with touchIME. With over 7 years experience in medical education across a broad range of therapy areas at a global and local levels, her passion lies within education at the right time to have a real impact on patient lives.

Victoria has an exceptional academic background with a first-class degree in Medical Sciences and a PhD in oncology. She also has 3 years post-doctoral experience, including time spent at The University of Oxford and the MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, Texas. Victoria has gained over 8 years’ experience in medical education across a broad range of therapy areas and project offerings. She enjoys applying her scientific expertise in a dynamic environment to deliver a broad variety of high-quality, innovative programmes at a Global, European and local level – always striving to exceed faculty, supporters and learners’ expectations. With a passion for delivering medical education to healthcare professionals that make a real difference to patients, Victoria leads the touchIME Scientific Team, heading up the editorial delivery of its practice-changing IME programmes.

At touchIME Tammy manages a first class education development team who maximise the potential of our market-leading products to achieve the needs of global and regional sponsors to deliver outstanding ‘next generation’ IME activities.

She is an expert at delivering highly engaging, needs-led, and innovative education to healthcare practitioners. With this in mind she strongly advocates ‘snackable’ content, delivering complex science in an easily digestible format, empowering learners to change their practice quickly, and improve patient outcomes.
